Wireless Access FAQ

What network do I use to log onto the wireless network on campus?
Students can connect their laptops, tablets, or smartphones to the waketech Wi-Fi network. The waketech Wi-Fi network is available on all campuses.

What happened to the WakeTechStudent network?
At the beginning of the Spring 2014 semester, the WakeTechStudent Wi-Fi network was removed from wireless access points. The waketech Wi-Fi network was created as an open network that students can easily connect to on their laptop, tablet, or smartphone, with no manual setup. When connecting to the waketech Wi-Fi network, you will not be redirected to any kind of web authentication page.

Do I have to register for wireless access?
No, registration is no longer required to access the waketech Wi-Fi network. This is an open network. No user credentials are required to connect to it.
